The Port Washington Water District has allocated funds to replace several water mains throughout
our village. Phase 1 of the project, which involved installing the water mains, was completed in
January. We are pleased to announce that Phase 2, connecting each home directly to the new water
main, has also been completed.
The next phase will involve the contractor milling and filling the sections of roads affected by the
construction with a base coat.
Once all work is complete, the Village will repave all Village owned roads curb to curb that were
impacted by the water main replacement. Cow Neck Road is a Nassau County road and the
responsibility for repairs will be conducted through the Port Washington Water District with oversite
from Nassau County DPW.
We sincerely thank the residents affected by this project for their patience and understanding. The
outcome will be a new water main that provides reliable service to those impacted.
