Below please find a link to the first of four videos that the Town of North Hempstead is creating as part of a NYSDEC grant.
This first video covers recycling. The next video will cover proper set out of trash, the one after that, what is household hazardous waste and what to do with it, and the final video will cover Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws like the current electronics law that prohibit curbside set out, and require manufacturers to take greater responsibility for the end-of-life disposal of their products. That video will also cover the disposal/recycling of pharmaceuticals, rechargeable batteries and single use shopping bags.
