Dear Port North Residents,
I want to use this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year and best wishes for 2017. I also wanted to share some exciting information about a new business that will be opening in Port Washington North.
Today, Target has announced plans to open a new, flexible-format store in Port Washington, NY, located at 3 Shore Road in the Soundview Marketplace. Projected to open in October 2017, Target’s new Port Washington store will join the recently opened and announced flexible-format locations in New York. The new location will be in the building formerly occupied by King Kullen.
The Port Washington store, at approximately 48,000 square feet, will provide a quick-trip shopping experience with curated assortments, including:
- Apparel including men’s, women’s, kids’ and baby;
- Baby and kid’s products, including toys, sporting goods and home décor;
- A grocery section, including fresh produce with healthy food options;
- A curated home and stationery assortment;
- An expanded assortment of cosmetic, skin and hair care items;
- Portable electronics and tech accessories; and
- Services include Target Mobile and Order Pickup.
Over the past several years, the Board of Trustees has been working with the owners of Soundview Marketplace to attract new tenants to occupy the vacant spaces. We hope that the arrival of a nationally-recognized brand will attract more businesses and further revitalize the shopping center.
On behalf of the Village of Port Washington North, we welcome Target to our community. It has been a pleasure working with the Target team as we’ve assisted them in their decision to add a new location to the Soundview Marketplace shopping center. We believe this is a major plus for the entire Port Washington community and look forward to opening day in the fall.
As always, if you have questions or need to contact me directly, please email at mayor@portwashingtonnorth.org or call me on my cell phone at 516-233-9581.
