North Hempstead Town Council Member Mariann Dalimonte and the Town Board are proud to once
again host MulchFest, a tree cycling event at different parks across the Town. This event will
transform non-artificial Christmas trees into mulch.
“Last year’s program was such a success and I’m thrilled to be hosting MulchFest again for the
residents of North Hempstead,” said Council Member Dalimonte. “This event will allow us to
repurpose Christmas trees, ensuring that they have a renewed use after the holiday season. I
encourage residents to take advantage of this program to reduce waste and help our local
environment in the process.”
From Thursday, December 26 through Tuesday, January 14 (daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) residents can
bring their tree to North Hempstead Beach Park’s North Lot (175 West Shore Road, Port Washington)
or Clinton G. Martin Park (1601 Marcus Avenue) to be upcycled and mulched. All trees must have
their decorations and ornaments removed. The mulch will be used to help the soil and plants at local
Town parks.
